"Hellllooooo wake up and come back to reality!" Or how about "Welcome to reality, my friend".

Sound familiar? Most likey, you and I have either said this or have had someone say it to us. These phrases are not uncommon to hear thrown around the street. But, have you ever stopped and really thought about this simple, everyday word?
Reality.
What exactly does that mean? Is there even a "right" definition out there? Could it be that it's just one of those words that we all use but can never explain? I think so.
According to Marriem-Webster the definition of reality is "The quality or state of being real". I think that's an absolutely terrible definition. I think the reality is a very personal and individualized word. One persons reality may be the polar opposite of another persons reality. Does that mean one of theirs is fake? Certainly not. Each person  in this world experiences a multitude of events, has different memories, and interprets what life has to offer differently than any other person around them. These series of events, and a persons interpretations of them, come together to create their reality. What's real in my life is probably some distant and foreign concept to inhabitants of rural South American tribes.  So, next time you find that little phrase sitting on the tip of your tongue take a second to consider what you're really trying to say.
